Audi Aicon: the ambitious self-drive concept
Competitions in the auto industry are never going to end anytime soon. Tesla INC (NASDAQ: TSLA) championing the cause of electric vehicles seemed to be the rave of the moment with the revolution caught by all automakers, but other automakers will not let go that easy.
Audi AG (NSU: GR) is making its products worth the news again when it recently unveiled Audi Aicon, an autonomous design at Frankfurt’s auto show. The new model is a level 5 self-driving innovation. Aicon is Designed to transport passengers across a long distance in total comfort. The car has no steering wheel or pedals.
In the words of Marc Lichte; the head of design at Audi, he said: “We started the design of this car in the interior to create maximum space, in an Audi A8 the first-class seats are in the back; here they are in the front for the best view of the road.” While a seat behind the front luxury one gives a four-seat space.
The Aicon is built on the huge VW Group electronic structure, that will be launched next year with the E-Tron SUV, according to Lichte. The Aicon is a step into artificial intelligence and Icon and it will be a model for all future electric Audi models.

We observed that calling the Audi Aicon the autonomous Audi of the future may not be an exaggeration, it is a combination of several innovations; digitalization, drivetrain, suspension, and sustainability in a perfect way. Designed as a pure electric option and it should be able to cover up to 800 kilometers. The car radiates both the interior as well as the exterior design of the future, perhaps an innovation that will last another decade.
The product shows a mobility concept of the future, where the merits of door-to-door individual transportation are merged with the comfort and luxury of a first-class airplane cabin. Audi Aicon is a car with no steering wheel or pedals, which offers state-of-the-art communications and marvelous ergonomic arraignments; it’s a first-class experience for those that enjoy auto thrills.
Audi Aicon: a digression from the A8 sedan
The A8 Sedan was a level 3 autonomous vehicle that Audi unveiled earlier this year. The Audi Aicon is a better model that improves on virtually all aspects of the Sedan. From the seat arrangement, where the luxury seat, which was at the back of the A8 Sedan is now in front in the Aicon and the technology is now at level 5.
The success recorded by the Sedan will be dwarfed by the innovation and the concept that the new Aicon will offer auto freaks.
We conclude that the Aicon will be the future of what an automobile should be, the fact that it is fully electric will make it a force to reckon with in the market and will give Tesla and Chevrolet a run for their money. The competition in the EV industry is getting more interesting, only the best will earn the trust of investors.
